Know what a detector can—and cannot—do
No handheld detector can guarantee that a space is free of surveillance devices. Results can be affected by distance, walls, shielding, nearby phones, routers, Bluetooth devices and other electronics.
RF mode may not identify devices that are powered off, fully wired, recording locally or not transmitting. Optical checking requires a visible lens and careful scanning. Always combine detector results with a physical inspection and professional help when the situation is serious.

Can it find every hidden camera?
No. Detection depends on the device type, whether it is transmitting, lens visibility, distance and environmental interference. Use it as one part of a careful privacy check.
Why does it alert near my phone or router?
Phones, Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth accessories and other normal electronics emit RF signals. Turn off known sources where permitted and lower sensitivity to help narrow the search.
Can it find a GPS tracker?
It may alert to certain trackers while they are actively transmitting, but it cannot confirm that every alert is a tracker or detect every tracker design.
Where should I look first?
